Seven Facts About Me

Dinahmow and KSKlein tagged me to state seven facts about me. Seven Facts About Me. Now wait a minute. Why is a "meme" always about "me"? Why can't a meme be about what I think of the tagger? Maybe that would be more fun? Or how about what I think of the seven bloggers I will tag?
Seven Artists I am Tagging But If they Don't Want To Do A Seven Facts That's Okay:
  1. ValGalArt. She blogs here. What can I say about ValGal that has not already been said? She is a fabulous artist. Her creations are beautiful, wholesome and unique. She creates the best house portraits. I love the details of her artwork. I love her Marisol cards which I consider treasures. I would be delighted to receive a card designed by Val. They are fun to send to special friends and loved ones. Val loves art. She also supports artists and features them on her blog. She works with many of them and their collaborative efforts are marvelous. Her art is outstanding and she has a wonderful personality to match her creations. I have not really met Val, only through her blog but she is as lovely and beautiful as her art. I am her No.1 fan. I have been following her blog for over a year after seeing her avatar.
  2. Andrea Pratt. She blogs here. Andrea creates signature art that is unmistakably her. She combines colors to create fabulous conceptual paintings that tell interesting stories. I also like her black and white or black and grey illustrations. I love the details of her paintings and illustration backgrounds. Take a look at them and notice the fine strokes. She has a remarkable sense of humor and is also a terrific writer. Her posts are insightful. She is truly a thinking and creative blogger, plus she is pretty and attractive. Her former avatar a fish which was a detail of one of a series of paintings caught my attention from among many artists’ avatars early last year.
  3. Ascender. She blogs here. Sometimes I go to Ascender’s blog and I just say “Oh wow”. Her art is penetrating, provocative and insightful. My favorite piece is her avatar. I saw it among rows of avatar on an art blog comment section last year. Ascender creates art using different media but her most remarkable pieces are her pastel drawings. Ascender is quite elusive but I can only imagine an intense, delightfully sensitive artist who inhales the world around her and then exhales with stunning art.
  4. Bibi blogs here. So she does not illustrate, draw or paint but can this lady write captivating, interesting and insightful posts. I consider writers artists, in fact, mythology created the muses for writers, not painters. Bibi’s enthusiasm, humor and zest for life peek out of her blog. Blogging with her is a wholesome, pleasant and worthy experience.
  5. Melissa. She blogs here. Another wonderful writer. Melissa is a bona-fide lover of life. She sees the world as a beautiful, delicate, interesting environment that sets the stage for learning and living with her two gregarious and precocious daughters. Her posts are a wonderful treat and I help myself to it as often as possible. Her knowledge of flora and fauna is remarkable. I never knew anyone involved with an Iditarod until I stumbled on Melissa’s blog. Check out some of her previous posts especially about the one with the visit to the veterinarian. I could go back to that and laugh as heartily as I did the first time.
  6. Sidney; Hildegard and Pieterbie. So okay these are three sites. I am breaking the rule. I don’t think I can really say enough to bring due regard to these three photobloggers. Photoblogs talk about aperture, lighting, ISO and other technical details. Sometimes these bloggers do but they also talk about their subjects with human interest journalistic style (Hildegarde and Pieterbie) or a socio-politic-cultural angle. Sidney is a Belgian who lives in the Philippines and has made me humble through learning regional cultures I have never known about my birth country before. He approaches his subject matter with great interest as its student, teaching his blog visitors along the way. His images show great respect for the people who clearly puts him in the middle of their activities to capture some of the more stunning, beautiful, poignant, intimate, and sometimes shocking details about the many subcultures in the Philippines . He deserves special recognition in Philippine blogging which excludes non-citizens from consideration. Pieterbie is a Belgian in Belgium who as I imagine, travels around everyday carrying a camera. He sees things that most people see everyday but with a penchant for detail that only an avid student of life posses. He has a great sense of humor and is obviously a fine gentleman. Sometimes, however, I complain about his blog being unbalanced – more pretty women that attractive men. I am sure there are many attractive European men but Pieterbie rarely gives in to whining. I did not realize that badminton was a dangerous sport until I went to Pieterbie’s blog. I don’t know how I discovered Hildegarde but I am thankful I ventured into her blog. I learn more about the world and other cultures every day through these magnificent bloggers. Hildegarde is foremost a photographer but her interests capture mine too. She loves nature and man’s interaction with nature. Like Sidney and Pieterbie, she is also an avid student of her surroundings. Do you know what a polder is? European bloggers have the advantage of living in near proximity to countries that offer vastly different cultures, environment, flora and fauna. I consider myself the lucky recipient of their observations and photo recordings.
