Featured on Drawing Served, Again :)

Oyoweeee!!! I forget that this blog is for sharing my art with my family and friends. I have been having so much fun playing with food and dishes lately. I am so tickled to receive an email from Behance's lead curator, Oscar Ramos Orozco, this afternoon telling me that my elephant illustration collection is featured on the main gallery of Drawing Served. Check it out here. Thank you.

Brunch!!!

Scrambled eggs and Garlic fried rice served with slices of fruits on an Evergreen Fiesta plate.

My son steamed a pot of brown rice the other day. We did not eat it. Throwing it away would be  wasteful, but I am not fond of most leftover foods (except leftover cake, lasagna, spaghetti or Thanksgiving dinner). I asked my husband if he wanted some garlic fried rice and scrambled eggs. I forgot to buy onions and tomatoes from the grocery store yesterday, so I went out to my son's vegetable garden and harvested the rest of the plant ingredients that I needed.

Happy Weekend!

Guinisa nga Talong

I love organic gardening. Earlier this afternoon, my son gave me three oriental eggplants from his garden.  I decided to saute' them. This is Guinisa nga Talong. It is a tasty aromatic dish. The combination of the olive oil-sautéed garlic, onions, and tomatoes is absorbed by the eggplant. It will tickle your palate. Ingredients: 3 small to medium-sized eggplants, ripe tomatoes, onions, fresh garlic cloves, water, olive oil, garlic powder, Mrs. Dash salt-free seasoning blend. Cooking time: 20 minutes. Soften the sliced eggplants in water; combine garlic, onions and tomatoes; add olive oil; saute' until onions are translucent; add Mrs. Dash and garlic powder to taste. You may add salt if you so desire.

Nutcracker

Micro Matryoshka.
Fully functional micro nutcracker made in Russia,
for which I paid a ridiculous price many years ago.
Poor guy, he looks overwhelmed by my nuts!
